Scope and Purpose of Position
The Primary function of the Communications Advisor is to provide effective communications support throughout TRONA including assisting the Senior Leadership Team in conveying excellent messaging for the benefit of TRONA and our people. This role is centered around being present over several platforms including social media, our website etc but also feild work reporting. This role supports our development as an identity that serves our people and aligns with our strategy and values. You will be focused on meeting day-to-day people-led activities of the Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa and contributing to creating and facilitating change.
Key Relationships
Internal: Te Rūnanga o Ngāti board, internal departments including Taihuringa, Taiao, Korehāhā Whakahau and Ngāti Awa Group Holdings.
External: Hapū and iwi, project stakeholders, external media, community agencies and councils
About you
Qualities and Qualifications:
Desired:
· 2-5 years' relevant experience in a communications role
· A degree or a high-level working experience in communications, public relations, content development or journalism
· A high level of writing abilities
· Full NZ Drivers Licence
· Understanding of te reo me on tikanga
· Experience of commissioning or producing video content and photographs.
· Understanding of communication techniques and platforms including social media management, website development, media releases and others.
