Korehāhā Whakahau
Korehāhā Whakahau is the first Iwi led Predator Free 2050 project, seeking to eradicate possums from 4,700ha of land within the rohe of Ngāti Awa - including Whakatāne, Ōhope, and Ōhiwa – without using toxins. We aim to do this by 2025.

Taihuringa
Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa has been working hard to develop and implement a Workforce Development framework to service the employment gaps within the Whakatāne district. Our primary focus is the Marine sector and servicing the recruitment deficit at Extreme Boats. However, we have now moved towards other sector-related and short courses.
