Application Review Process

Submit application

FULL APPLICATION INCLUDING AEE
Please include all documentation including your assessment of environmental effects.
For applications for water take we require as a minimum a SPASMO test
information about the availability of water including the amount available to allocate in the catchment

Scope

EMAIL RESPONSE TO CONFIRM RECEIPT
You will be provided with an email response confirming the receipt of your application. This will include a scope that will outline the time and fees to review your application. If we require further information this will also be included in the email.
PLEASE NOTE: You must confirm agreement of the scope including the fees before we will review your application.

Review

TRONA STAFF WILL REVIEW THE APPLICATION
Once you have confirmed the scope, staff will review the application. The application will be reviewed against TRONA policies and the Ngāti Awa Environmental Management Plan. This stage may also include hapū consultation. Please allow a period of 20 working days for this stage to be completed.

CIA

CULTURAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT PRODUCED
A cultural impact assessment is produced at the end of the review period. This document will provide TRONA’s position either in support or opposition to the proposal. It will also include resource consent conditions.

Complete and submit

SUBMIT TRONA CIA WITH YOUR CONSENT APPLICATION
A final CIA and cover letter will be provided to include in your application you submit to the Council.
